A Bit About Me
Hello there, and welcome to my corner of the web! I'm Katie, a visual designer who's passionate about illustration and has experience in service design, product design, graphic design, and animation. When I'm not crafting creative designs, you can find me indulging in my love for crafting or wrangling my two little girls.
​
Originally hailing from the UK, I spent my formative years in Cambridgeshire, nurturing my love for art. After completing my art and design AVCE in college, I pursued my passion for illustration at Coventry University, where I graduated with first-class honors.
​
My journey led me to London, where I embarked on an exciting chapter at a TV production company. However, it was my role as a product designer at Baker Ross Ltd. that truly ignited my creative spark, designing delightful craft products for children.
In March 2015, seeking adventure and inspiration, I made the life-changing decision to move to New Zealand, settling in the vibrant city of Wellington. There, I embraced the ever-evolving role of a Visual Designer/Service Designer at the Ministry for Primary Industries, aiding food businesses in navigating New Zealand's food laws.

After the whirlwind of COVID lockdowns, my family and I traded city life for the tranquility of Taranaki, where we embraced remote work while welcoming our second daughter into the world.

In June 2023, our family embarked on a thrilling new chapter, relocating to Melbourne, Australia. Since then, I've been working as a contractor at the Environmental Projection Authority, expanding my expertise in branding and graphic design. One of my key contributions has been developing an illustration library from scratch, featuring a vibrant new set of character designs. As my contract with the Environmental Projection Authority draws to a close at the end of June 2024, I'm eagerly seeking my next exciting opportunity in the design world.
